Egans were recently a proud sponsor of the ACTS 2017 Australasian Campuses towards Sustainability Conference 2017 and Green Gown Awards. As a sponsor for this important three day event, it was also an opportunity to present our data and demonstrate our findings in collaboration with the University of Sydney on furniture re-use and furniture management.
Egans were also a panellist along with representatives from University of a Tasmania and Charles Sturt University for a robust discussion sharing their knowledge and experiences at the Universtiy of Melbourne’s presentation on ‘how to create a furniture re-use centre’. We used our developing tertiary Wise Office Furniture Program, our experience in furniture resource recovery and how furniture design purchasing decisions affect disposal outcomes at end of life as a model for the discussion.
Egans are in collaboration with some of the leading Universities in Australia, developing the unique Wise Office Furniture Program and Wise Furniture Kiosk as a model for these discussions which demonstrates best practice outcomes for the re-use, resale and sustainable disposal of tertiary furniture.
