Sustainable Onsite Furniture Disposal
Stage 1 – Building 1 – CBD
We dismantled and disposed 2500 workstation components from a Melbourne CBD address through our WISE Program for Tandem Building Group.
All workstation screens were separated on site, and the components were delivered directly to recycle.
Stage 2 – Building 2 – Richmond
- 4 floor onsite dismantle / recycle / transport / resuse.
- 40 staff onsite for 2.5 weeks
- 1350 office workstations (screens and bases dismantled and recycled, 70% of workstations table tops reused).
- 2000 chairs (1000 reused, 1000 recycled).
- 230 cabinets (reused).
- 25 tales (reused).
- 6500sqm carpet tiles (reused).
Environmental Results
- Reuse weight – 87,640kg
- Recovered material – 47’140kg
- Landfill material – 115’800kg
The work was completed within a tight time frame leaving an empty clean space for Tandem and sustainable outcome.
