- Be organised
- The more organised you are the smother and more efficiently the relocation will go.
- Trying to ‘work it out’ when the removalists are onsite will most likely add to the cost of your relocation.
- Be clear about what is going to move and not going move.
- Label all items to be moved with a destination number correlating to a location on the destination floor plan.
- Do NOT label the items that re NOT moving. Generally the removalists are instructed to only relocate items that are labelled.
- Packing & Labelling – Have your staff pack everything properly.
- The more organised your packing and preparation the smother the relocation will go.
- Label all item that are relocating clearly. This will ensure your items will end up in the correct location.
- Clean up before you move – while your staff are packing take the opportunity to have a clear-out and clean up.
- This eliminates paying to relocate items that you no longer require.
- If removalists have to work around a mess it generally takes longer.
- Ensure the site(s) are clear of other contractors on move day.
- When our removalists start the relocation we move very fast, other contractors such as builders, painters, and electricians can be unnecessary obstacles.
- Move day access – ensure access has been organised properly so there are no delays for the removalists to access the buildings. Often passes are programmed for business hours access only and may not work after hours.
- Consider what you are doing with items that you no longer require. How will you dispose of assets or items you don’t need any more? Often the cost of disposing of items is more than the cost of the actual relocation.
